Round 2 funded projects
Round 2 of Community Water Grants closed in August 2006 and was highly competitive with 4,532 applications submitted across Australia.
Decisions were based on merit and an advisory panel oversaw the assessment process. The process met the Better Practice Guide for Administration of Grants produced by the Australian National Audit Office.
Successful applications for round 2 of Community Water Grants were approved in two stages.
On 27 November 2006, $61.7 million was granted to 1,444 proposals. These grants are enabling communities to save, recycle and improve the health of their local water resources.
On 30 April 2007, additional funding of $5 million for 167 projects was released under Round 2 of Community Water Grants.
