Commercial operators and Community Water Grants

Community Water Grants is an Australian Government program.

No commercial operators are authorised to operate on behalf of Community Water Grants in any capacity.

Several companies are offering services, for a fee, to complete Community Water Grants applications on behalf of organisations.

These companies are not Australian Government representatives or Australian Government endorsed suppliers.

It is not permissable to use any of your grant to pay a consultant to assist you in developing your application. Any fee these companies charge is not redeemable through Community Water Grants funding as this falls outside the grant guidelines. Applying for a Community Water Grant is free. Community Water Grants staff can provide advice if required.

Using one of these companies does not guarantee your application will be successful. The Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation will announce the successful projects following an assessment of eligible applications against the assessment criteria set out in the application guidelines.

If you choose to engage one of these companies, please ensure you read the application to be submitted on your behalf carefully, and monitor their processes closely, particularly in regard to obtaining genuinely independent quotes. You are legally responsible for managing the funds if your application is successful.

Our application process is straightforward but, necessarily, requires a careful and detailed response.

If you have any questions about the program, the application form or the application process, please phone our free advice line on 1800 780 730.
